Exercises
Designing Realistic and Effective Exercises
Alfa Bravo Consulting supports organisations, public bodies and project partners in the design, conduct and evaluation of exercises aimed at strengthening preparedness, coordination and operational capability.
Activities may include different types of exercises, including drills focused on specific procedures, functions or capabilities; Table Top Exercises; Command Post Exercises; Field Exercises; and Full-Scale Exercises, tailored to the objectives, context and capabilities of the organisation.
Main Services
Exercise Design and Planning
Support in developing the exercise architecture, from the definition of objectives to the development of scenarios and supporting documentation.
Main activities:
- definition of exercise objectives
- development of the exercise concept
- scenario design
- development of injects and the Master Scenario Events List
- preparation of exercise documents, briefings and supporting materials
Exercise Conduct and Control
Support in managing activities during exercise conduct, with a specific focus on coordination, facilitation and exercise control.

- support to Exercise Control
- coordination of the inject flow
- support in monitoring exercise progress
- assistance with briefings, debriefings and coordination moments
Evaluation and Lessons Learned
Support in exercise evaluation and in translating observations into improvement actions.

- definition of the evaluation framework
- preparation of observation forms and evaluation tools
- collection and systematisation of observations
- support in conducting debriefings
- drafting of exercise reports and after action reviews
- identification of recommendations and improvement actions
Approach
Each exercise is designed to be realistic, proportionate and useful. The objective is not simply to “test” an organisation, but to create a structured environment to review procedures, train coordination and identify concrete opportunities for improvement.
